The UNITED NATIONS (UN) is an international organisation composed of nation member states that was established in 1945 after the second world war. At its founding, the UN has 51 member states, but this has grown to 193, now representing almost all the world’s sovereign states. The central aim of UN is to maintain international peace and security but its other roles include; protecting human rights, delivering humanitarian aid, promoting SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, and upholding international law.
